Stitch Me Up

Congratulations to Javier Colon for winning The Voice!
I've been rooting for you since day one ever since I heard you were from Connecticut. Now that you've won, I just learned you also graduated from the University of Hartford (just like me!!!)

I'm forcing Joe to download your new song "Stitch by Stitch", it is just incredible!
Congratulations!!!!

I love all of the other contestants too and will of course be downloading some of the other performances from the show as well. But good for you Javier! This is the first time I ever voted for a contestant on a TV show and I'm very proud to think my vote helped get you to the top four!
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

My Brain

So in my last post I mentioned I had Lady Gaga's "Judas" stuck in my head for two days. Since then I've had the following songs in my head on and off for a full week:

LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem"

Florence and the Machine's "The Dog Days are Over"

Lady Gaga's "Judas" AND "The Edge of Glory" (two Gaga's in one week!)

and finally

Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream"

I'd try really hard to blame this on Joe but sadly he had absolutely nothing to do with getting these songs lodged into my cerebrum. I can't even blame the radio, yes I listen to it but I only listen to Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on Z100. They play songs every so often and they haven't played any of these all week! So what is it?! I can definitely blame the Voice and the Colbert Report for Florence, they both show cased "Dog Days" on their programs recently but other then that it's just my brain and it's love for these great tunes.

Mind you, I'm not complaining about the songs themselves, I just wish I could get them to exist only in my Zune and not in my brain where my thoughts and important things I need to remember belong. It's driving me crazy!

Speaking of New York (that's where Elvis Duran broadcasts from)-what's up my homosexual family?! Congrats on being told officially, that you are in fact just as "human" as the rest of us. I'm sorry it took so long and I'm also sorry it's still not a nation-wide change. You should have been "allowed" (I say that in quotes because the whole idea that you need to be allowed to love is absurd) to marry and raise families together with all of the same benefits and rights as the rest of us since the beginning of time! So good for you and please, feel free to invite me to your fabulous weddings-I'm a super good gift giver ;)

Special shout out to an old friend and UHa classmate, Adrienne. The dear girl just married her wife over this past weekend and from the looks of their facebook posts, they had a really wonderful evening. Mazel Tov!

Oh the Agony

Joe just dropped a bomb on me. Hulu is apparently up for sale! This means everything about the site could change and they may stop carrying some of the shows (cough-Buffy-cough-Angel-cough) we all love and miss!
I'm going to dedicate all of my free time to getting through the rest of BVS and Angel so I can be sure I don't miss out when everything is turned upside down. Why Hulu?! Why?!!

Oh and to add to this crazy week of mine-I've had Lady Gaga's Judas stuck in my head for the past two days!
Specifically "Ju-da-Juda-a-a-Ju-da-Juda-a-a" Alll day! I must remember to have Joe add this to my Zune so I can stop the madness once and for all!

Please share in my "pain"-enjoy!

Not a Hoax

RIP Ryan Dunn
you were my favorite Jackass crew member and one really wonderful guy

Ryan supported a wonderful charity called Teammates for Kids.
To find out about them and possibly make a donation (in Ryan's name would be nice I think) you can go here.
Thank you.

Goodbye Ryan.

Role Call

I have not watched an episode of Buffy since last weekend. We are just too damn busy and haven't spent much time at home to sit around and watch reruns. I've got a cue queue of new stuff in my DVR and I mustn't neglect the shows currently out there for my viewing pleasure.
I just started watching Angel in conjunction with Buffy so I really need to focus. Hopefully I'll be back to watching the awesomeness that is BVS next week.
The one thing I CANNOT stop watching however, is the awesome Alaska Airlines commercial I posted the other day. Seriously. This shit is too funny. It kills me every time I watch it and I watch it as often as possible. Simply genius.

Hustlin'

I'm watching Ice Loves Coco and I just finished watching Mob Wives so forgive me if this post gets a little gangsta. I'll try real hard not to trip but no promises ya'll.

Joe is going to a soccer tournament (football for my foreign homies) this Saturday and has been back to playing Fifa like crazy. We no longer have the football sports channel to enjoy so he's been keeping up with everything soccer through various fan sites on the web. This week he stumbled upon what might possibly be the most wonderful commercial I've ever seen. Granted, I might feel this way because our home is all about soccer these days but judge for yourself:

It's one of those things we can't stop watching. Like the "I'm on a Boat" video and the "Jack Sparrow" joint. Just way too awesome to watch once. Here's another one from the same airline, these people don't play and I'm telling you, I hope they pay their creative team well because damn, they are geniuses!

It makes me want to go to Alaska purely to check out this soccer team and all of their awesome game traditions. And with those commercials? Please believe we will be flying Alaska Air okay? Don't hate.

And just for kicks, here's an old school commercial for the airline-apparently they've had a lock on commercial genius for decades! I am just loving these!

Is it Monday?

It feels like it.
Today started out a little nuts and while venting to Joe, he sent me this awesome picture to cheer me up:

It's so great being in a relationship with a nerd. I highly recommend it :)

You Slay Me

I have a problem. I cannot stop watching Buffy. It's bad. Ever since I realized there were so many episodes I've missed, all I care to do is keep the series going. Now I'm at the point when David Boreanaz (Angel) leaves the show so in about a day or two I'm going to have to start watching Angel as well! It's a sickness I'm telling you!

Yesterday Joe and I ran a few errands and at one point he decided we should go visit his dad because there was really nothing else going on for the rest of the day and I haven't spent time with his dad in awhile. While we're talking about going there he looked at me and said "You just want to watch Buffy don't you?" YESS!!!! Yes that's all I want to do! I can't help myself I'm hooked all over again!

The worst part about this addiction is knowing that at some point the show will be over for good. Then what is a gal to do? I mean there are a million shows out there-I know, I used to watch them. But now my world is consumed with Buffy and I'm going to watch the final episode (which I saw when it originally aired like ten years ago) and feel this tremendous sense of loss. Once that episode is over I'm going to sit around for at least a week feeling like I'm missing something and wanting to turn on Buffy. I need help here people.

I wonder if I can find Sailor Moon episodes floating around anywhere? Oh! Or the Ronin Warriors! Those were the best!

Sigh.....I need to go outside.....
